Assignment one we will be writing a paper analyzing at least 6 sources your field of study. Personally I will be finding sources in the field of history. I will probably analyze sources talking about important events or important individuals throughout history. I will look for the purpose of these sources. How do they put bias into these sources or use facts to benefit one side of an argument. I will be able to determine how the author feels about these events or individual. This assignments go back to many previous English assignments before. We are given a text of some sort and we have to analyze it. Try to determine the author's underlying argument and themes occurring throughout the text.
Overall I thought that the points here were very solid and confidently stated. I thought that the overall theme of the paper was consistent and know. I believe that the sources were strong points of explanation. I like how you used SLR to explain your aca. and non. paragraphs.
ReplyDeleteThe biggest area for improvement would have to consider your formatting. The indentation on the long quote is wrong and some of the quotations feel cited wrong. Just be sure to check. Also check grammar and keep your formatting aligned with Apa.
I thought the overall flow was solid and does not need much improvement. The citations were pretty strong and I thought you protected you quotes well explaining each one. Just be careful of Apa formatting again! That was the biggest area for improvement.
The paper itself has many strong points to it. You are able to explain your points in great detail and explanations, as well the language used throughout is very professional. However, I find the biggest problem for the paper to be its structure and format.
ReplyDeleteIn the assignment there are a few formatting issues. The academic portion is wrongly centered when it should be left aligned. Additionally, the quotes that are more than 40 words are not properly spaced according to APA. I feel if you do this it will help break up the long paragraphs and make for a more visually appealing paper.
Something I think that would help the paper is adding an intro to academic and non-academic, as well as a conclusion paragraph. The intro to the two sections will help viewers who don't know what academic and non academic works are better identify them and better exemplify what their differences are. Also, adding a conclusion paragraph can help create a more neat ending to the paper, wrapping up all the points.
Overall, the paper has many strong features such as the word choice and ability to explain its points is great detail. Many of the issues that I found are surface level problems and quick fixes involved with formatting and organization.
